Cognitive Behavioural Therapy

A short term, goal oriented form of psychotherapy that aims at changing thinking and wellbeing by targeting negative emotions and cognitive distortions.

Brief Solution Focused Therapy

Focuses on the individual’s preferred future to find resolutions to the client’s problem. For individuals of all ages and families experiencing child behavioural challenges, relationship issues and family dysfunction.

Collaborative Problem Solving

A model for providing support for children and adolescents with social, emotional and behavioural challenges. It supports the premise that “kids do well if they can” - Ross Greene.

Emotion Focused Therapy

A short term therapy where human emotions, if discovered and worked through, can help improve emotional states and improve relationships.

Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy 

An evidence-based psychotherapy that aims to target the needs of the child or adolescent with difficulties relating to the negative impact a traumatic experience has had on them, such as death, separation or divorce.

Motivational Interviewing

A direct, client-centred counselling approach to help clients address and resolve ambivalent feelings by assisting individuals to explore internal motivation to change behaviour. This process takes into account the challenges with behaviour and life changes.
